We Are Family's mission as a southern, grassroots, non-profit organization is to provide affirming spaces for LGBTQI+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, etc.) and ally youth up to the age of 24 through direct support, leadership development, and community engagement. Their vision is that LGBTQI+ and ally youth feel empowered to find their places in the world, in their families, and in their communities.
The Own Our Power Fund (2021-2023) is providing a two-year grant to support their organization as they build up their racial justice capacity through both internal work (leadership succession, development, and training) and external efforts (with a focus on strategic communications).
The Mobilize Power Fund (March 2023) provided leadership support for LGBTQI+ and BIPOC young people at the South Carolina state legislature.
