Transgender Advocates Knowledgeable Empowering Resource Center

TAKE (Transgender Advocates Knowledgeable Empowering) Resource Center works as a community in Birmingham, Alabama to improve the quality of life for transwomen of color in the south by meeting needs and increasing accessibility.

The Own Our Power Fund (2017-2019) provided a two-year grant to support TAKE in building leadership within their own communities and to ensure that the organization continues to be led by Black trans women.

The Grow Power Fund (2019-2025) is providing a multi-year grant for general operating, capacity building, and organizational development support.

The Mobilize Power Fund (April 2021) supported mobilizing trans community members across the South in response to anti-trans legislation targeting trans youth.
