Guided by the principles of feminism, solidarity, prison abolition and the fight for a world that’s free from criminalization and fear, Support Ho(s)e Collective focuses on getting sex workers and survivors out of cages and fosters self-organizing through public demonstrations and political education by and for sex workers. They are building models of how to organize with incarcerated sex workers of color with an understanding of policing, racism, criminalization, poverty, and sexism as interlocking forces.
The Sex Worker Giving Circle (2018-2019 and 2020-2021) provided two-year grants to deepen existing support to incarcerated collective member Alisha Walker, organize with the national coalition Survived & Punished in supporting survivors of violence who have been criminalized for self-defense, and advocate for COVID-19-related safety and public health measures for people in prison.
The Sex Worker Giving Circle (2022-2023) provided a two-year grant to fund staff to continue their resource creation, zine making, and online archival work, as well as to continue providing wellness and mental health care stipends for their members.
