Meet our March 2024 and November 2023 Mobilize Power Fund Grantees
We’re excited to share our Mobilize Power Fund grantees from November 2023 and March 2024! Please read on to learn more about their work.
The Mobilize Power Fund (MPF) is a rapid response fund for urgent and unanticipated direct action, community mobilizing, and healing justice. Grants are available on a monthly basis for youth-led and intergenerational groups, nonprofits, coalitions, and efforts in the U.S., regardless of 501(c)3 status or fiscal sponsorship.
November 2023 Grantees
Collective Action for Safe Spaces (Washington, DC)
Collective Action for Safe Spaces (CASS) is a Black trans, queer, and non-binary-led organization that uses public education, cultural organizing, coalition-building, and advocacy to build community safety. The Mobilize Power Fund supported an internal healing retreat for CASS staff members.
Dissenters (Tinley Park, IL)
Dissenters is leading a new generation of young people to reclaim our resources from the war industry, reinvest in life-giving services, and repair collaborative relationships with the earth and people around the world. The Mobilize Power Fund supported safety and security measures among their membership as part of their organizing to free Palestine.
Majdal Center (San Diego, CA)
Majdal Center is committed to uplifting the Arab community in San Diego through political engagement, advocacy, and cultural programming that can help to build a foundation for political power and secure a more just and dignified future for our people. Through the Mobilize Power Fund they organized in the San Diego for Palestine Coalition.
Palestinian Feminist Collective (National)
Palestinian Feminist Collective is a U.S. based group of intergenerational Palestinian and Arab women and feminists committed to the liberation of Palestine and all its people from all systems of oppression. With the Mobilize Power Fund they organized rapid response Free Palestine actions and teach-ins.
March 2024 Grantees
A Luta Sige & Free Alabama Movement (Washington, DC)
Collective Action for Safe Spaces (CASS) is a Black trans, queer, and non-binary-led organization that uses public education, cultural organizing, coalition-building, and advocacy to build community safety. The Mobilize Power Fund supported an internal healing retreat for CASS staff members.
Arkansas Language Justice Collective (Arkansas)
Arkansas Language Justice Collective works to increase language justice access and resources for organizing spaces in Arkansas. The Mobilize Power Fund supported the creation of language justice trainings to build the capacity of bilingual individuals to become politicized language workers.
Cornbread & Roses Community Counseling (Sylva, NC)
Cornbread & Roses Community Counseling’s mission is to promote inclusive, vital community services throughout Western North Carolina by focusing on service gaps experienced by marginalized communities, particularly LGBTQ+ communities. The Mobilize Power Fund supported community education in rural communities as anti-LGBTQ legislation is implemented in public schools.
More Than a Hashtag (Las Vegas, NV)
More Than a Hashtag is dedicated to shifting the narrative surrounding police brutality by humanizing the victims, with a focus in Las Vegas, NV. The Mobilize Power Fund supported their “People's Investigation” program that will provide rapid response support to victims of police brutality and their families.
Fifth Sun Project & Nevadans for Palestinian Liberation (Las Vegas, NV)
The Fifth Sun Project is an Indigenous women-founded organization dedicated to Indigenous justice through advocacy, arts, and cultural initiatives. Nevadans for Palestinian Liberation (NPL) is a diverse coalition advocating for Palestinian freedom through educational events, advocacy actions, and community engagement initiatives. The Mobilize Power Fund supported their direct actions and an art show in support of Palestinian liberation.
Project Hajra (New York City, NY)
Project Hajra is an abolitionist organization that provides survivor support to Muslim, South Asian, Arab, and Afghan women, including peer support, material support, immigration support, housing, a community workers cooperative, and transformative justice training. With the Mobilize Power Fund they translated know-your-rights trainings and transformative justice materials in Urdu, Arabic, and Dari.
Nuii Waav Brotherhood & Michigan FTM Network (Detroit, MI)
Nuii Waav Brotherhood provides physical, mental, and emotional support to our community through support groups and programs focused on the needs of transgender men. Michigan FTM Network provides support services to the trans masculine community across Michigan through virtual and physical spaces. The Mobilize Power Fund supported their mental health first aid training for trans communities.
