Genevieve Saavedra

Development Officer, Individual Giving

Genevieve (they/themme) is a transculturally and transracially adopted/displaced Chilean queer person, critical adoption educator, organizer, and abolitionist committed to relationship-building and resource redistribution. As a Development Officer at Third Wave, Genevieve supports people on their journey to resource BIPOC gender justice liberation for the long haul. During their 8+ years of development work, they cultivated relationships to move resources towards Black and brown parents/organizers impacted by the family policing system (known as the child welfare system) across New York City. They are passionate about dreaming up possibilities of healing, kinship and collective liberation with adopted, fostered, and displaced people and communities targeted by the state. Currently based in West Philly, they enjoy gentle bike rides to get local tasty treats, and curating music playlists for almost any mood/occasion.
